Camping with Custodians: Tourists experience Dreamtime camping at NW station


Peedamulla Campground is a Camping with Custodians initiative, celebrating the connection between Aboriginal people and the land, and you can stay there!

They come from across the Pilbara each December to watch boys become men, an ancient rite of passage.

After a month or more of secret learning at the Cane River lore ground, the next generation join their elders to sing from sunset until dawn.

Preston Parker was one of those boys singing the Wardilba at Peedamulla Station about 15 years ago.

His connection to the land runs deeper than most.
